​CLASS 1 MELT (MANDATORY ENTRY LEVEL TRAINING
Safety First Professional Driver Training is proud to be teaching BC's new MELT program!
This course is Mandatory for all people who are obtaining a Class 1 licence. The program is 140 hours long (4 weeks) and involves classroom, in-yard and driving instruction. 
Drivers will be instructed in Air Brakes, Load Securement, Chain Up Procedures, Vehicle Components, Pre Trip Instruction, Coupling and Uncoupling, and all MELT instruction as laid out by the BC Ministry of Transport and ICBC (note; a seperate air brakes course is no longer necessary as a pre-requisite, only a class 1 learners licence is needed)
All materials are provided, clients only need proper clothing for time of year/job and Food/Nourishment.
Introductory Price for MELT is $15,000

Class 3

Our Class 3 course is designed for students to learn to safely and confidently operate a non-synchronized transmission comfortably and in control, cornering and maneuvering a class 3 unit including backing, and all paperwork required for legal operation in the commercial transport industry. Students will learn to drive in city traffic, highway conditions, and on hills This course is recommended for students wishing to enter the industry with a goal towards city pick-up and delivery work, sanitation, snowplow, fire department, vacuum and water truck work.
